The property owner and contractors are working to clean up the heating oil, the EPA says.
“Ohio EPA continues to work with the property owner, Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulation, the local fire department and the property owner’s contractor to address the issues,” the statement says. “The agency is also working to contact other local property owners.”
FIRST REPORT: The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has been called to the site of a proposed Dollar General Store in Bethel Twp.
The site at 5550 North Tecumseh Road is currently being excavated, the Ohio EPA said. The agency received a tip about an environmental issue at the property on Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.
The EPA is still working to find out what might or might not be at the site.
