Rain showers are on the forecast today, Monday

Moderate temperatures and rain showers are on the forecast for most of the week.

Rain is expected mainly before noon with highs near 49 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. More rain showers are possible overnight as lows fall near 46 degrees.

The NWS said additional threats for rain will be observed Monday as a warm front lifts north across the area and then again at midweek as low pressure tracks through the Ohio Valley.

On Monday, it’ll be rainy but gusty with winds near 28 mph. Highs will rise 58 degrees. Monday night brings more rain showers before 1 a.m. with gusty winds, but otherwise will be mostly cloudy. Lows will fall around 37 degrees.

Tuesday brings mostly sunny skies with a high of 50 degrees, followed by a partly overcast night as the lows drop into the mid-30s.

Rain showers make a return on Wednesday, with highs near 50 degrees. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy with a brief chance of rain before 1 a.m.

The lows will fall near 29 degrees overnight.
