Freezing cold with burst of snow today; Temperatures near zero expected tonight

Today will be freezing cold with light wind a burst of snow, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

There will be a chance of snow, mainly between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Less than an inch is expected, though all of it is likely to stick to pavement, causing slick spots on untreated surfaces and roads.

Dayton could get one-half inch, with Hamilton around three-tenths inch and Springfield near seven-tenths inch, according to NWS.

Highs will be around 20 degrees, though light winds will make it feel like the single digits all day. Gusts of 15 to 20 mph are possible.

Overnight skies will clear, with lows falling to the low single digits and wind chill values as low as 10 degrees below zero.

Tomorrow will be sunny with highs around 20 degrees. Wind will make it feel like it is a few degrees below zero to start the day, and largely feel like the single digits during the day.

Overnight, clouds will gradually increase as temperatures fall to around 7 degrees. Wind chills as low as negative five degrees will be possible.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with highs around 32 degrees and lows around 23 degrees.
