CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor said quarterback Joe Burrow is “just sore” and will practice this week after he injured his left knee Monday in a win at Dallas.

The Cowboys hit Burrow eight times and sacked him twice during the game, but he came up limping in the fourth quarter after he was sacked on a third-and-13 play where his facemask was grabbed but no penalty called.

In between drives, trainers put a compression sleeve on his leg to protect the knee, which he had surgically repaired as a rookie in 2020. Burrow went back in at the start of the next drive and finished the game, throwing the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute left.

Afterward, Burrow said he just landed on the knee a couple times, and he was not worried about it.

“It’s playing football,” Burrow said in his post-game press conference. “I was never not able to go out. I was able to do everything that I needed to do to go out and perform well. This isn’t something that would keep anybody out of the game.”

Taylor said Orlando Brown Jr. remains “week-to-week” with the leg injury that has been bothering him since the Week 7 win at Cleveland. He missed three games after he re-aggravated it the following week against Philadelphia and returned after the bye to play the Steelers on Dec. 1, but was clearly bothered by it in the fourth quarter and needed shut down again last week.

Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins also continues to deal with a viral illness that the Bengals are dealing with on a week-to-week basis, and Taylor said linebacker Joe Bachie, whose role was increased with Logan Wilson on injured reserve, will be out for an undetermined number of weeks with an adductor injury.

The Bengals (5-8) travel to play the Titans (3-10) on Sunday.
