All three teams finished 7-2 in the NCAC. Wabash earns the tiebreaker and league’s NCAA Division III playoff berth because it swept Wittenberg and Denison. The same three teams tied for first last season. This is the first time in 36 seasons of NCAC football multiple teams with two losses have tied for the title. No team with more than one loss had ever won or shared the championship.

While Wittenberg was denied a playoff bid for the second straight year on the tiebreaker, it extended its streak of NCAC championships — winning or sharing to — to four.
The Tigers (7-3 overall) fell behind 7-0 early in the first quarter but tied the game on a 95-yard kickoff return by LaShon Bright. That started a 38-0 run that included a 20-yard field goal by Christian Seger, a 91-yard touchdown pass from Bobby Froehlich to Thaddeus Snodgrass, touchdown runs by Jaheem Washington and DeShawn Sarley and a 27-yard touchdown catch by Jake Saus.
Ohio Wesleyan didn’t score again until the fourth quarter. Jonathan Seay led the Wittenberg defense with nine tackles. Nasir Carter had two sacks.
