Week 6 Roundup: Graham wins first outright conference title since 2009

The Graham High School football team beat Northwestern 35-3 on Friday night at Taylor Field in Springfield to claim its first outright Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division title since 2009.

The Falcons are 6-0 and 5-0 in the division. They’ll have a first-round bye in the Division IV, Region 16 playoffs. The Falcons will host the winner of Eaton and Dayton Northridge at 7 p.m. Oct. 17.

Northwestern finished the regular season 1-5 and 1-4 in the division. The Warriors travel to Taylor for a first-round playoff game on Saturday.

Tecumseh 35, Bellefontaine 34: Tecumseh senior Wyatt Ferguson scored on runs of 17, 1 and 4 yards as the Arrows won a CBC Kenton Trail Division game.

Braden Berner ran for a 20-yard TD and Nate Cory scored on a 1-yard run for the Arrows. Berner also blocked an extra point in the fourth quarter to help Tecumseh earn the victory.

Tecumseh (3-3, 2-3) hosts Xenia in a D-II, Region 8 first round playoff game at 7 p.m. Friday.

Mechanicsburg 33, West Liberty-Salem 0: Quarterback Aaron Conley went 8-for-15 for 216 yards and two TDs as the Indians finished the regular season undefeated and won the outright Ohio Heritage Conference North Division title for the first time since 2016.

Chayse Propst rushed for 99 yards and two TD and Jake Hurst caught four passes for 143 yards and a TD for the Indians, who outgained the Tigers 456-145.

Southeastern 41, Cedarville 26: The Trojans improved to 2-4 and 2-3 in the OHC South Division. The Trojans travel to Sidney Lehman for a D-VII, Region 28 first round playoff game at 7 p.m. Friday.

Cedarville fell to 1-5 and 1-4. The Indians host Mississinawa Valley in a D-VII, Region 28 first round playoff game at 7 p.m. Friday in Cedarville.

Triad 21, Northeastern 14: Cade Houseman threw a 50-yard TD to Dylan Haggy and Jake Nichols also rushed for a TD as the Jets fell to 1-5 and 0-5 in the OHC North Division. They’ll travel to Deer Park on Saturday for D-VI, Region 24 first round playoff game.

Indian Lake 34, Urbana 7: Ben Ofori scored the lone touchdown for the Hillclimbers (0-6, 0-5). They travel to Bethel-Tate for a first round D-IV, Region 16 game on Saturday.

Madison Plains 42, Catholic Central 0: The Irish fell to 0-6 and 0-5 in the OHC South Division. Catholic Central opted out of the playoffs, but will host Bradford in a regular season at 7 p.m. Friday at Hallinean Field.

Jonathan Alder 30, London 13: The Pioneers (6-0, 5-0) won the battle of unbeatens to claim the CBC Kenton Trail Division title for the second straight season.
