>>CORONAVIRUS: Complete coverage
The 91-year-old camp, which is located on Clifton Road south of Springfield and east of Yellow Springs and John Bryan State Park, annually hosts the 4-H camps of Clark, Champaign, Greene, Madison, Union, Shelby, Logan, Preble and Fayette counties.
However, Ohio State University Extension canceled all summer 2020 camps last month as the state was a couple of weeks into a stay-at-home order issued by the Ohio Department of Health and signed by Gov. Mike DeWine.
In early May, the order intended to slow the spread of the coronavirus was extended to May 29, but it has since shifted to a "strong recommendation."
Aside from the more than 2,000 4-H campers per year, the camp also hosts other groups during the summer, including church and band camps.
