About Wright State

A loss against Youngstown State on Thursday locked WSU into eighth place in the Horizon League and the No. 8 seed in next week’s league tournament, meaning the Raiders will open the tournament on the road Tuesday. They will learn their first-round opponent, the No. 5 seed, after today’s four games with four teams still possible for that seed: Butler, Detroit, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Youngstown State. ... Hall tied his career best with 13 points against YSU, and Mpondo grabbed 12 rebounds, the first time this season a WSU player has reached double figures in rebounds. ... Starter Armond Battle, who is struggling with an Achilles tendon injury, has been called day-to-day.

About Cleveland State

The Vikings snapped a four-game losing streak with a 77-64 win against Detroit on Thursday, during which Harmon led CSU with 16 points. ... CSU has been playing without senior guard D’Aundray Brown because of injury, and Mason has entered the starting lineup in his absence. He had 15 points and nine rebounds against Detroit while freshman Charlie Lee chipped in 12 points off the bench on Thursday.

FYI

WSU faced CSU in its first Horizon League game this season, losing to the Vikings 45-43 on a tip-in with 0.3 seconds left by Brown on Dec. 1.

Quote, unquote

“They create offense with their defense as well as anybody in our league. For us, a team that already struggles scoring, to turn it over and give them points would be bad for us.” — WSU coach Billy Donlon.
