Boys basketball: Four area players earn All-Ohio honors in D-IV

Emmanuel Christian’s Adonis Davis and Catholic Central’s Sabien Doolittle were named All-Ohio on Tuesday by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.

Davis and Doolittle, both 6-foot-4 seniors, were named to the Division IV second team. Both averaged 15.0 points per game.

Catholic Central knocked Emmanuel Christian out of the postseason with a 62-57 win in the district semifinals. The Irish advanced to the regional semifinals where they lost to St. Henry.

Charlie Bertemes of Southeastern and Trey Dunn of Catholic Central were honorable mention selections in D-IV.

The players of the year are Christopher Anthony of Canal Winchester Harvest Prep (D-III) and Zeb Jackson of Maumee Valley Country Day. Archbold’s Joe Frank and Berlin Hiland’s Mark Schlabach were named coaches of the year in D-III and D-IV, respectively.

The Division III and IV teams were announced on Tuesday. Teams are chosen at the district level by media reps throughout the state based on coaches’ nominations. Ohio’s Mr. Basketball will be announced on Thursday.

The OPSWA announced the All-Ohio girls basketball teams last week.
