Background/Overview: Duke Level visited Clark County, Ohio from Washington state to do missionary work. When he went back to his home in the west, he felt guided to return here to continue his work. He shared his vision with his wife, Maureen, and their six children. In 2010, with the whole family's commitment to the mission, they and their two dogs moved to Springfield for good.
In 2013, Duke’s missionary work led him to take over general manager duties with the Children’s Rescue Center. The center owned Un Mundo Café. “Un Mundo” is Spanish for “One World,” and the center has functioned all along as a non - profit entity. Duke asked the center’s board if they would ever consider selling him the Café he and his family had grown to love. In time, they agreed and January of 2015 began with Duke and Maureen as owners of Un Mundo Café, L.L.C.
Their son, Jessie, is the manager, and their other children help out as well. The menu focuses on Cincinnati - roasted, fair trade coffee, locally grown ingredients whenever possible and freshly made light meals.

Breakfast: Bagel w/Cream Cheese - $2.50; Breakfast Bagel - $3.50; Yogurt w/Granola - $3.25/$4.
Sides: Homemade Hummus & Mumford's Chips - $3.25.
"Soup of the Day" (fall & winter months only): Curry Lentil Soup; "Duke's Delight" (Vegan Vegetable Soup); Vegan Potato Soup; 4 - Bean Chili.
Salads: Greek Salad or Turkey Salad - $5.25.
Sandwiches: Un Mundo Panini on Garlic French Bread (choice of many options, and includes Mumford's Chips & Pickle) - $6/$9.
Desserts: Fresh Fruit - $1; Cookies - $1.50; Muffin or Brownie - $1.75; Coffee Cake - $2.50.
Hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday - Friday (until 10 p.m. on select Fridays when there is a special event); 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
More Information: Free parking in the neighboring private lot. Free "WiFi" access. "Monthly Special" includes a 10 percent discount on those designated food and drink items. "Golden Buckeye Card" now accepted. Delivery of large orders in the center of Springfield provided with 24-hour notice.
Local artists and music acts are invited to book shows at the Café. There’s seating for about 40 visitors. Also, Un Mundo joins Project Jericho in supporting local performing arts with “Open Mic” once a month (ask about upcoming dates and times).
