Lauri, Kathleen

Kathleen Rose Lauri, of Kettering, died Sunday, January 5, 2025. Born in Dayton on June 19, 1942, she was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Daniel Ireland, Sr. and Margaret (Jenkins) Ireland, her older brother, Willard D. Ireland, Jr., her younger brother, William H. Ireland, and her grandson, Carl Lewis. She is survived by her son, David Lauri, her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen Lauri-Lewis and Garth Lewis, and her long-time companion, MacArthur Kammeron.

Kathleen graduated from Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, Sinclair Community College, and University of Dayton, earning her college degrees over ten years as she worked full-time and cared for her children. She worked at Shillito's, Proctor and Gamble, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio Highway Drivers' Fund, Mazer Corporation, and Reynolds and Reynolds.

Kathleen lived for many years in the Oregon District, where her garden was on the tour multiple times. She gave tours at Riverscape for Five Rivers Metroparks, volunteered for the Save the Arcade committee, was a member of the Lincoln Society, served on the board of the Cottingwood homeowners association, worked out at Trent Arena, and enjoyed classes in retirement at Sinclair and at UD's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Following in the footsteps of her great aunt Esta McDaniel Lee, her mother, and her aunt Kathryn Jenkins Ireland, Kathleen was a life member of the Jonathan Dayton chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
