LORNA J. KAFFENBARGER, 86, of Springfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at StoryPoint Senior Living, Troy on Monday morning, February 3, 2025. She was born in Springfield on June 6, 1938, the daughter of the late Paul James and Frances E. (Short) Farrell.

Lorna and her husband, Roger faithfully attended Maiden Lane Church of God for their entire marriage. A true matriarch of her family, Lorna loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, serving as an example of quiet strength. She had a calming spirit and a heart to love all who crossed her path. Lorna had a deep, faith-filled commitment to her family, neighbors and community.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Roger E. Kaffenbarger; their children, Kathy Funderburgh, Darlene (Jeff) Kincer, Lorie (Ed) Sadler, and Brent (Tiffani) Kaffenbarger; a sister, Esther Gemma; grandchildren, Brian (Christine) Funderburgh, Dustin Funderburgh, Hanna Kincer, Gracie Kincer and her fiancé, Tyler Stemen; Tyler (Kailee) Shaffer, Hunter (Mary) Kaffenbarger, and Christian Kaffenbarger; great grandchildren, Grant Funderburgh, Vivienne and Adelynn Shaffer, and Theodore Kaffenbarger; many nieces and nephews; and a special family friend and caregiver, Danelle Bowman.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Lorna's funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastors Missy Potts and Mark Martin presiding. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
