Food Truck

A jalapeno Latin flavor food truck will be at the Champaign Family YMCA from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at 191 Community Drive.

Museum Tour

The Pennsylvania House Museum will host tours from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 1311 W. Main St.

Admission is $10 for adults and $3 for children.

Community Picnic

Emery Chapel UMC located at 3500 Springfield-Xenia Road will host a Community Picnic from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight to celebrate the Grand Opening of a new Community Children’s Library.

This library will be open to any youths who want to read and to learn.

Date Night Paint

Dragonfly Date Night will be held tonight at Dragonfly Vineyard and Wine Cellar, 710 W. Herr Road in Urbana.

Attendees will be painting a portrait of their partner, dinner and wine.

The cost is $65 per person, which includes all of your art supplies, dinner and a glass of wine. Tax is additional, and gratuity is appreciated.

Walk with a Doc

Mercy Health – Springfield’s Cardiologist Dr. Tariq Rizvi will take part in Walk with a Doc at 9 a.m. on Saturday, at Springfield Health and Fitness, 202 N. Limestone St.

Walkers of all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds are invited to attend these walks. Dr. Rizvi will begin the event with a brief discussion on heart health, and then participants can spend the rest of the hour enjoying a walk and conversation, including any questions they may have for the physician.

The walk will take place on the bike path behind the gym as long as the weather is nice. In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place in the Cardio Room.

Christmas in July

Vinnie’s Treasures will host Christmas in July from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot behind 228 Raffensberger and St. Vincent Community Center.

All Christmas items have been donated through the years to help with the mission. There will be gift items along with items such as stuffed animals, ornaments, lights, garland dolls, a mix and match table where you can choose two items for $1, and more.

This is an all-volunteer outreach program of St. Vincent de Paul to earn money for the needs of children.

CarFit

The Clark County Combined Health District (CCCHD) and the Clark County Safe Communities Coalition will host a CarFit event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the 529 E. Home Road office.

The event and CarFit program is designed to help older drivers find out how well they currently fit their personal vehicle, to highlight actions they can take to improve their fit, and to promote conversations about driver safety and community mobility.

CarFit is a collaborative initiative developed by AAA, AARP, and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) partnership. Trained professionals from these organizations will be present at the event to guide older drivers through a 12-point checklist for their vehicles. An occupational therapist will also be available to provide seniors with valuable information on maintaining and improving their driving health.

Car Wash

The Landon Orahood Memorial Car Wash will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Rural King in Springfield.

This event is in memorial of a 15-year-old teammate who passed away in an accident. Every dollar raised will go directly to Orahood’s family.

This event is organized by the Northwestern Amateur Athletic Association German Twp. Fire and EMS Seniors Team.

Golf Scramble

Lacy’s Sport Stop’s 3rd annual Cystic Fibrosis Golf Scramble will be held with shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Elks 51 golf course on Villa Road.

All proceeds go to Dayton Children’s Fibrosis Clinic.

The cost is $75 per person.

Show Auditions

Step Forward Productions will be hosting a variety show, with auditions from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Auditions are open to all including musicians, singers, dancers, rappers, actors, comedians, magicians and more.

The show will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Clifton Show

Blue Note will perform bluegrass and country from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Clifton Opera House, 5 Clay St.

The cost is a $10 suggested donation.

Mom Andrasik’s Hungarian Food truck will be serving before the show.

Proceeds help maintain the Opera House and other village properties.

Garden Tour

The 31st Annual WASSO Garden Tour will be held Saturday and Sunday with six gardens on the tour route.

Visit the gardens of the Youngs on Woodhaven Court, the Farmer residence on Hoppes Avenue, Toops Family on St. Paris Pike, deLanglade-Spriggs on South Broadmoor, the Children’s Garden on Penn Street, and the Lind residence on Dorchester Drive.

All proceeds go to support the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Pre-sale tickets are now on sale for $15 each at http://www.springfieldsym.org, Schneider’s Florist, The Giving Tree Salon and Spa on Villa Road, and Firefly Boutique in downtown Springfield. Tickets may also be purchased at the tour gardens for $20 each.

Ice Cream Social

The Woman’s Town Club, 805 E. High St., will hold its annual Ice Cream Social from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

There will be many yard games for all ages on the lawn along with fun raffles inside.

Urbana Library Events

The Champaign County Library, 1060 Scioto St., will host several activities this weekend:

Teen Anime Club will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday for teens 14 and up.

Crafts for Teens and Adults will be held at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday.

BINGO will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the North Lewisburg Branch.

Family Story Time will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday.
