Springfield Civic Theatre will present a preview of its upcoming 2024-25 season from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight in the Cellar Room of the Bushnell Event Center, 22 N. Fountain Ave.
The free event will include performances of songs from the shows, refreshments, and door prizes.
The season’s shows will be “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” Sept. 26-28; “The Rocky Horror Show,” Feb. 13-15; and “Aladdin Jr.,” May 22-24.
All shows will be in the John Legend Theater, 700 S. Limestone St.
Active for more than 90 years, Springfield Civic Theatre is the oldest community theater organization in the city.

Neighborhood Meeting
The West End Neighborhood Association meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, 1401 W. Main St.
The speaker will be commissioner Tracey Tackett, who replaced original speaker, city commissioner Bridget Houston.
The public is invited and light refreshments will be available.
The church is also hosting a Souper Supper from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch and from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. for dinner on Thursday, Aug. 29. Carry out is available. Proceeds will benefit The Clark Shawnee LifeWise chapter.
Ladies Night Out
Urbana Brewing Co, will host Ladies’ Night Out at 7 p.m. Wednesday at 35 Monument Square.
There will be specialty cocktails, specialty food items and music by female performing artists.
Be Your Own Boss
“BYOB: Be Your Own Boss. Build your Own Business” will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Springfield SBDC, 100 S. Limestone St.
This is a training course to find out what it’s like to be an entrepreneur, understand the various ways you can structure your business, get the inside scoop on how to finance your business dreams, learn how your new business will impact your tax return and more.
The speaker will be Rick Slark of Slark Consulting Group. This is a free in-person class.

Pony Wagon Days
The St. Paris Pony Wagon Days 24′ starts Thursday.
The parade and toy run will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, with a basket and pie auction following the parade.
Bring a toy to be donated and collected during the parade.
