Authorities on Monday released names of two men who are among four who died in a two-vehicle crash this month.

Hamza Iftikhar, 33, and Michael Javier Crespo Capella, 29, both of Springfield, were killed in the crash that occurred on Ohio 334 about 11:40 p.m. on March 12, according to the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The identity of a third victim who was riding in the same vehicle — a Mercedes-Benz — with both men will be released when relatives are notified, the Patrol said.

David Griffin, 50, of Enon, was previously identified as the fourth person who died. He was a passenger in the second car — a Mini Cooper — that was involved in the crash. Hope Griffin, 43, of Enon, the driver of that vehicle, and a young boy, who was also a passenger, were flown by two medical helicopters to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

Hope Griffin was still listed as a patient at Miami Valley Hospital on Monday afternoon, according to the hospital, but the boy was not.

The accident occurred when the white Mercedes-Benz that Iftikhar was driving south on Middle Urbana Road ran a red light and collided with the Mini Cooper Griffin that was traveling west on Ohio 334, police said. The Mercedes reportedly burst into flames immediately after the collision.

The three men in the Mercedes suffered significant burns, the Patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation. However, Sgt. Jon Payer of the Springfield Post said that Iftikhar ran a red light and crashed into the Mini Cooper.
