Time delay safes help deter pharmacy robberies by delaying the time it takes for employees to open it, read the release. Narcotic medications, such as oxycodone, are now also stored in the safes to help prevent the opioid epidemic and misuse of controlled substances.
All CVS Pharmacy locations with time delay safes are displaying highly-visible signs to inform the public that the safes are in use to prevent on-demand access to controlled substance narcotics.
