Ted Vander Roest, of the Springfield Foundation, Steve Thompson, of the City of Springfield, and Brooke Wagner, of Wittenberg University, will present antiracist actions they are taking in response to their reading, officials stated.
After the presentation, attendees will choose a breakout action group to explore ways they can take antiracist actions in the community. The five options include:
- Join the NACCP to take action: Denise Williams, President, Springfield NAACP
- Join Springfield south side redevelopment efforts: Lawrence Beaver and Neal Browning, 1159 South Community Development Corporation, and Steve Thompson, City of Springfield
- Speaking Up Against Racism, Upstander Training Skills: Winkie Mitchell, RN retired, and Nancy Flinchbaugh, City of Springfield
- Antiracism Work in Education: Lori Askeland, Wittenberg University, and Crystal Aker, Springfield City Schools
- Building Diversity in Your Organization: Ted Vander Roest, Springfield Foundation
