Springfield police have filed warrants for a suspect in a Friday shooting at the Speedway gas station on South Limestone Street.

Police listed charges of felonious assault, having weapons while under disability and tampering with evidence against Kenneth Danner. The victim is in stable condition, according to police.

Anyone with information on Danner should contact the Springfield Police Division at 937-324-7685.

At the scene, police said they responded to a report of shots fired at the gas station after 3:30 p.m. Friday. They found a male victim with non-life threatening injuries and transported him to the hospital. The gas station is at South Limestone and John Street, about a half-mile north of I-70.

The Clark County Dispatch Center received five 911 calls reporting the incident. The calls detailed hearing between two and four gunshots, with a man being struck.

Multiple callers described the shooter as a Black man with dreadlocks, police were told he fled northbound in a dark colored Chevy Impala.

One caller was with the victim, who he said had been shot in the leg and arm. The victim and the caller spoke during the call, and other callers said he appeared conscious and was moving around on the ground of the parking lot.

The News-Sun requested Springfield Police’s incident report on the matter, but had not received it at the time of publication.
