A Springfield man has been found guilty of intentionally starting a fire at a senior living facility, according to Clark County Prosecutor Daniel Driscoll.

Ras-D Ahnutae, 60, was found guilty of aggravated arson on Thursday, according to online court records. As of Friday afternoon, he was listed as an inmate in the Clark County Jail.

According to Driscoll, Ahnutae intentionally started a fire at Tubman Towers, located at 17 W. Johnson Ave. in Springfield, on April 4. Driscoll said Ahuntae was “an acquaintance” of someone who lived at the facility.

“He started the fire after engaging in an argument with one of the residents of the complex,” Driscoll said. “We’d like to give a special thanks to Springfield Police Detective Ronnie Terry, the Springfield Fire Rescue Divison and Victim Witness Advocate Robyn Smith for all their hard work on this case.”

Ahnutae is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 28, according to online court records.
