The survey is part of an ongoing effort by the city to improve public communications and build on existing services to residents, according to a recent news release.
“We believe our best citizens are well-informed citizens, and it’s our job to ensure that the public feels informed about the resources and services available to them,” Springfield City Manager Bryan Heck has said in the past.
“It’s important for us to identify the public’s opinions of city services so we can pinpoint successes and areas of opportunity,” he added.
The survey asks residents to identify and rate the value of services available to them by the city and how they view the future of Springfield.
A similar phone survey was conducted in August of 2020, which asked residents the same questions.
City officials say that services have continued mostly uninterrupted amid the coronavirus pandemic, with some being transitioned online or through other virtual means.
