Southeastern school will release students early on Thursday and Friday due to the heat

Two Clark County school districts had early dismissals this week due to the heat.

Students in Southeastern Local School District will be released two hours early Friday due to expected high temperatures. They also were released early Thursday, the district’s first day of school.

Miami View Elementary will release at 1:10 p.m. and the junior/senior high school will release at 1 p.m.

Northeastern Local School District will have a 90-minute early dismissal Friday for all students. They also dismissed early Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday due to the heat and high temperatures.

Due to the early release, morning preschool will be 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. and afternoon preschool will be from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Patchy fog is possible to start the day for Friday, which again will be hot and humid with the high temperature around 93 degrees. Heat index levels are expected to top out in the upper 90s, the NWS said. There also will be a chance for showers and storms throughout the day, especially during the afternoon.

Precipitation chances will fall overnight, with temperatures dropping to around 70 degrees.

On Saturday, the NWS again predicted hot, humid weather, with a high around 93 degrees. Heat index values are not expected to be as high, reaching a peak around 96 degrees. There will be a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms during the day on Saturday, with chances increasing in the afternoon. However, rain chances are expected to drop around dark.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 73 degrees.
