A car, a pickup truck and a school bus were involved in a crash Monday afternoon on the east side of Springfield, but no one appears to have been seriously injured, according to Springfield Fire Rescue officials.

Just before 3 p.m., the car and the pickup truck collided at the intersection of East Main Street and 4th Avenue, near the UEC Theatres. The impact of the crash pushed the car into the front of Clark-Shawnee Local Schools bus #10, which school officials said was stopped at the traffic light.

Springfield Fire Rescue officials said there were high school students on the bus at the time of the crash, but none of them were injured.

Clark-Shawnee school officials said district administrators met the bus on the scene to check on everyone. The students were either signed out by their parent/guardian on site or they boarded a different school bus to be transported home, according to the district.

The car that hit the front of the bus suffered moderate damage, and the driver was being taken to a hospital for observation, but her injuries were not believed to be severe.

Traffic near that Main Street intersection was heavy and backed-up as of 3:40 p.m.
