“You can’t get rid of that sign - that is a part of Ramar. It has been there for years,” Kevin Elliott told his wife.
The couple moved to the neighborhood a few years ago and found out the man playing Santa had passed away.
The man’s family gave the couple the sign and they decided to “jump right in” and bring the tradition back to the neighborhood.
By restarting this tradition, it allows older people to relive their childhood memories and children to experience something they will never forget, Elliott previously told the News-Sun.
Santa will be on the rooftop of a house on Marbella Ave. 7 to 9 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 23 waving, saying Merry Christmas, and dancing.
Last year, Angela stood in their front yard passing out candy-canes with their children, but due to COVID-19 concerns, they are not doing that this year, according to a Facebook post on Ramar Estates Santa & Lights!.
Other houses in the neighborhood will be decorated.
“We’re trying to bring some of that holiday back - a lot of kids don’t get a fun holiday and don’t get to remember this kind of stuff,” Elliott previously said.
