Police: Springfield man goes to apartment for tattoo, then points gun while stealing $150

A Springfield man pleaded not guilty to aggravated robbery charges this week in Clark County Municipal Court.

Michael Johnson is accused of robbing a woman on Delta Road late Monday evening.

Johnson claims he was at the apartment with the woman and another man to get a tattoo. The woman then noticed $150 missing out of her wallet. When the man confronted Johnson about stealing from the woman, Johnson pointed a gun at him, the affidavit says.

The affadavit then states Johnson left the apartment and the other man followed him, giving emergency dispatchers information over the phone.

Police followed the man’s description of Johnson to the Clark gas station on Sunset Avenue, the affidavit says.

CRIME: Springfield postal worker robbed while delivering mail

Johnson walked out the gas station’s bathroom and was arrested by officers. When he was taken into custody, officers found a silver Jennings 9mm handgun, the affidavit says.

Johnson also had $94 in cash on him at the time of arrest, the affidavit states.

Johnson faces charges of felonious assault and carrying concealed weapons.

His bond was set at $100,000.
