PHOTOS: Train Derailment Closes Bechtle Avenue

At least 10 train cars were involved in a train derailment in Springfield early Friday, August 2, 2024. The derailment occurred just west of Bechtle Avenue on the Indiana and Ohio railway. According to the Springfield Police Division, there were no injuries and no hazardous materials were spiller. The police said Bechtle Avenue will be closed for at least 7 hours. BILL LACKEY/STAFF
