Construction workers look over the propane tank that exploded Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the former Children's Home on Home Road. Three construction workers were injured in the blast, two suffered severe burns and were transported by medical helicopter. The explosion also damaged several cars and the building next door that houses the Neighborhood Housing Partnership of Greater Springfield. Home Road was block in both directions for nearly two hours. BILL LACKEY/STAFF
