The construction area for the restaurant is located at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Albemarle Road behind a shopping center that Alex Dietz, the economic development coordinator for Clark County said previously housed Soap Box Cleaning Center and Just Smokes.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers began construction in September.
“We’re always looking for great new communities to roll out a new Raising Cane’s,” Williams said.
The Springfield area is familiar territory to Tim McCarthy, the founder of RCO Limited, which is the Ohio franchise partner of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.
“Our franchise founder, Timmy McCarthy, actually went to Wittenberg, so Springfield holds a special place in his heart,” Williams said. “It’s been on the list for a long time.”
The restaurant will have a double drive-thru with an indoor dining area - similar to the other Dayton area locations, Williams explained. The restaurant will also employ 80 to 90 local individuals.
“We’re just excited to be coming to the community,” Williams said. “Our big focus is making these restaurants feel very local. We’re not a franchise that you will see on every corner.”
The Springfield location will have 30 to 40 pieces of local graphics to showcase the community inside the restaurant, Williams said.
He added that they want to make the business feel like a “hometown restaurant.”
