A Nickelodeon-featured act is coming to Clark County, with some help from the cops

Ladies, gentlemen and children of all ages: The big top is coming to Enon, with a little help from the local police.

The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will take place at Enon Park on May 3, with performances scheduled at 5 and 7:30 p.m. According to a news release, the circus is able to make an appearance in the city thanks to sponsorship from the Enon Police Department.

The one-ring circus has been featured on several national programs, including Entertainment Tonight, the A&E special “Under the Big Top” and most recently, in the Nickelodeon special “On the Road with Circus Kids.” The Enon show will feature a variety of classic performances, including a trapeze act, a unicycle show and trained big cats. A new high-wire act will also premiere at the show.

According to the release, the circus will also be hosting a special tent raising event from 9:30 to 10 a.m. The community is encouraged to visit to watch the big top come together, then take part in a special tour of the circus grounds to learn more about the performers and how the troupe takes care of their animals. The tent raising event is free.

Tickets for the performance will be made available at the Enon Government Center, Rite-Aid locations and the Enon Police Department, as well as local branches of Wesbanco and Security National Bank. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children ages 2-12 and seniors. Tickets the day of the performances will be $13 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. Children ages 2 and under can get in free.
