A cat (not pictured) needed some coaxing when it was reportedly stuck on top of a power pole in New Mexico for about 5 days.

A New Mexico utility pole worker ended up contributing to the rescue of a fluffy, orange tabby who was stuck at the top of a power pole.

People in the area said the cat had been stuck at the top of the power pole for about five days in Bloomfield, New Mexico, according to KOB. The cat had no food or water.

KOB reported Gregg Strauss was working on the power line connected by the pole when he noticed the cat and tried to get him to come down.

A call went out to the Farmington Electric Utilities System, which operates the power line. A team of workers came and attempted to rescue the cat, but it became scared and ran to the top of the pole, jumping about 75 feet to the ground.

KOB reported that the cat was "alive and well" when it landed and ran into nearby bushes.
