When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who said he left for work around 7:30 a.m. and returned around 1:45 p.m. and found his garage door open, which was secured by a lock that had been cut.
“As (the victim) entered his garage, he observed that the door to his gun safe was standing open. He noticed that (his) firearms that were in the safe were no longer there,” the report stated.
The victim told police he also found a large hole in the center of the door that leads from the garage to the inside of his house, which appeared to be made by a pickaxe that was sitting on the garage floor so the suspect could reach their arm through and unlock the door from the inside, the report stated.
The victim told police that after getting into the house, the suspect ransacked the master bedroom, family room and kitchen before finding the keys to the gun safe and other valuables that were taken, the report stated.
According to the report, the items stolen include a 2002 Suzuki GSX 1300 R Hayabusa Motorcycle; six firearms – Glock 22, Walther .25 semi-automatic, DPMS .308 AR-10, Hi-Point .45 semi-automatic, Mossberg Lever Action 12-guage, Taurus .38 Special – and a men’s gold watch.
