Several Champaign County school districts will receive the coronavirus vaccine on Friday.

The vaccines will be held in two-hour times slots at the Champaign Health District.

Triad Local School District has a total of 81 individuals scheduled to be vaccinated, which includes 68 staff and 13 of their spouses or parents who are over the age of 65, according to Superintendent Vickie Hoffman.

Hoffman said 15 staff members and 13 spouses or parents are also on the waiting list to be vaccinated.

The district surveyed staff and regular substitutes in December to ask who did or did not want the vaccine, Hoffman said. They also offered staff members to bring spouses or parents that were over the age of 65.

Graham Local School District has between 100 and 110 employees who have expressed interest in receiving the vaccine on Friday, according to Superintendent Brad Silvus.

The other districts that will receive vaccines Friday include West Liberty-Salem Local Schools, Mechanicsburg Exempted Village Schools and the Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center.

Urbana City Schools are scheduled to get vaccinated at a later date.
