Officers responded around 2:50 a.m. on Sunday to shots fired at Certified Oil Gas Station, 1350 N. Belmont Ave., according to a Springfield police report. Dispatch told officers that a car fired several shots, but no one appeared to have been shot.

When police arrived and secured the scene, they were unable to find a victim or suspect vehicle.

“Officers were then informed by dispatch that a female had driven down Thrasher Street laying on the horn of the vehicle and they believed that she had been hit. Officers responded to the area and located a female calling for help,” the report stated.

The woman told police her friend had been shot and was injured, the report stated. The shooting victim was taken to the hospital for gunshot wounds and later taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital for further treatment.

No suspect or witness information was available.
