WATCH: Crews demolish Springfield building as roads close around it

Springfield city streets are closed today as crews are working to demolish a building.

Linden Avenue and Monroe Street were closed beginning at 8 a.m. today, according to the Springfield city Facebook page.

The closure of Linden Avenue will be from the intersection of Monroe Street to the intersection of Washington Street, the post says. The closure of Monroe Street will be from the intersection of Monroe Street to the intersection of Gallagher Street, according to the post.

“The closures are due to the demolition of the former Hursh Container building located at the corner of Linden and Monroe,” the post says.

The city hopes to reopen the roads in the early afternoon.
