United Senior Services is extending the closure of their Clark County center until May 29 to help slow the spread of COVID-19, or coronavirus, according to a statement from the agency.

The extended closure is in response to Gov. Mike DeWine’s heightened efforts “to contain the spread of the coronavirus and ‘flatten the curve’ in Clark County and the State of Ohio”, the statement says.

“This means that all recreation, education and social events and all centers and satellite locations remain closed to members until further notice,” the statement says. “Additionally, all activities and travel outside of USS centers remain canceled during this time period.”

Despite the extended closure, key services provided by USS will continue, the statement says.

“Delivery of meals and groceries, transportation, personal care and other essential services to the older adults in our community are still available through USS to adults in Clark County,” according to the statement. “USS staff continues working to improve the lives of older adults in Clark County and to keep you informed as expert recommendations and updates to our plan become available.”
