A long history with the division
Miller has spent more than 25 years with the department serving a number of roles. He was promoted to assistant chief in 2011 after having taken part in emergency response duties for a year. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Clark State Community College since 2008.
Strong community involvement
Miller has been prevalent in the community at large, having taken part in a number of councils in the city. He has been a member of the Culturefest Steering Committee since 2011 and a member of the Amazing Race Committee since 2015, among others. He has also been involved in a number of speaking engagements for organizations in the city, including the Springfield Rotary and the Zion Hill Baptist Church.
A Springfield native
Miller originally graduated from Greenon High School in 1986. After that, he went on to study for two years at the University of Dayton and received a paramedic’s certification from Clark State in 1994. Presently, he is enrolled in Columbia Southern University and is studying to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration.
