Springfield’s history and International Harvester’s history have been entwined from the early days of its roots with Whiteley, Fassler, and Kelly and Warder, Bushnell and Glessner all the way through today as Navistar.

It has been said, “as goes International, so goes Springfield.” After merging with several companies to become IH in 1902, they shifted to making trucks, a decision that kept them in the forefront.
