“We need this week together as a staff to prepare for the reopening of our schools. Specifically, we need time to plan, collaborate and offer professional development opportunities to ensure we are sufficiently prepared to begin the year,” said Superintendent Paula Crew.

Students will also not need to make up any days as there is enough time in the schedule to be “well above state requirements for school attendance,” Crew said.
Crew said they have not yet scheduled an open house due to the coronavirus and they are waiting to see if any changes in protocols are made.
“We plan to give students and parents an opportunity to come and meet their teachers and secure their schedules, but it may look differently as in the past years,” she said. “For example, we may stagger times throughout the day for specific grade levels.”

The district will share open house plans as they enter August, Crew said, as well as the start of their reopening plans toward the end of this week.
“The information will include the tiered learning models for lesson delivery that we will be prepared to offer beginning Aug. 26. It will also include safety, social distancing, sanitizing, communication protocols and our district plans on face coverings,” she said.
The district has not yet announced their plans regarding face coverings.
