Mobile home explosion near Columbus injures 2 people

Two people suffered serious injuries after a mobile home exploded in southern Franklin County Tuesday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched on reports of an explosion at a mobile home park on Janice Marie Boulevard, located just south of Interstate 270 and near U.S. 23 in Franklin County just before 7 a.m., our news partners at WBNS-TV in Columbus report.

Fire officials tell the station two people were found outside the home, both suffering from burns and extensive injuries. They were transported to a Columbus-area hospital for treatment.

The explosion destroyed the mobile home, however the cause of the blast is under investigation.
