The soup kitchen, located at 830 W. Main St., will open as a warming center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day for those in need.

The Caring Kitchen, a 24/7 emergency shelter in Urbana, will also offer shelter from the cold.
The Caring Kitchen has up to 19 beds at all times and provides extra during extreme temperatures, according to Marilyn Cohn, executive director of the shelter.
“If need be, we will go into what we call ‘overflow,’” Cohn said. “If it gets extremely cold and we’re full in the 19 beds, then we will use our (extra) cots,” Cohn said.
