Springfield native John Legend, wife appear on ‘The Simpsons’

John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, appeared on ‘The Simpsons’ over the weekend.

“I grew up in Springfield, Ohio,” Legend said in a Twitter post. “When I went to college, all my classmates asked me if that was where the Simpsons were from.”

During the episode, Springfield, the town the Simpsons live in,  finds a pirate treasure and the townspeople do not know what to do with it. Legend tells the townspeople to spend their money on STEM education. through a song.

Teigen plays Marge’s friend in the episode.

“There are many Springfields in America, but I finally got to visit the Simpsons' Springfield and I can confirm that it may or may not be in Ohio,” Legend said.

Legend was born and raised in Springfield where he graduated from North High School as salutatorian of his class.

In 2016, Legend helped raise $500,000 to donate to the Springfield school district to renovate the auditorium that now bears his name.

Legend and Teigen have two children, Luna and Miles.
