Springfield Metropolitan Housing Authority offices closed for week

The Springfield Metropolitan Housing Authority’s main office will be closed for the rest of the week, according to a press release sent Wednesday morning.

The Springfield office on 101 W High Street will be closed on Thursday and Friday and will reopen on Monday at 8 a.m., according to the release. Also, SMHA’s Neighborhood Networks Community Center at 1900 Huron Ave. will also be closed on Thursday and Friday and reopen on Monday, July 15 at 9 a.m.

The reason behind the closures wasn’t listed on the release and repeated calls for comment were not answered. Messages left at the office were not returned.

The release did say while the main office is closed, other SMHA offices will remain open.

SMHA’s remote Asset Management offices located at 4726 Security Drive, 1707 E. High Street, 315 S. Burnett Road, 220 Montgomery Avenue, will remain open during normal business hours.

Also, the Springfield Metropolitan Housing Authority Asset Manager Office at 1900 Huron Avenue will remain open during their normal business hours.
