According to the post, this decision was made after discussions with Springfield City Manager, Bryan Heck.

The post also said, “I had previously stated that a final decision would be made on May 1st, but there is too much planning for all participants and float creation time that is needed to wait any longer to officially make this decision.”
The parade’s organizers were considering postponing the parade to the July 4th weekend, but “there is no guarantee that would work at this point as well,” the post added.
“I look forward to having a great 2021 parade to help make up for this cancelation,” Springfield Ohio Memorial Day Parade’s organizers said in the post.
