The grand home that appears to perch precariously above the cliffs in Veterans Park was the longtime home of the Cory family, Charles C. and Clara Campbell, who first settled into the home around 1915.

Charles Cory was a traveling salesman with the Champion Chemical Company and Clara was onetime regent of the Lagonda DAR.

Their son, Campbell was editor of the local “Poultry Success” magazine and his wife Eleanora was director of Wittenberg’s dining halls in the 1930s.

Their daughter, Kathleen, was a longtime clerk in the County Auditor’s Office and their other son John Virgil went on to be a successful attorney in Cleveland.

Today, the house is still perched on the cliffs overlooking Veteran's Park and hasn't changed a lot.
