UPDATE 9:45 p.m.:
With 71 precincts out of 90 reporting, the fluoride issue is now failing.
About 54 percent of ballots have a no vote while about 46 percent said yes.
The Springfield News-Sun will update with the final count when it becomes available.
ORIGINAL: Yes on the issue of fluoride has maintained a small lead early tonight as ballots are still being counted at the Clark County Board of Elections Office.
With the early votes counted, this issue is passing by a 5 percent margin — 2,866 for and 2,609 against.

The issue would call for Springfield to put a small amount of fluoride in the water supply
Those in favor of the move say it will improve oral health in the city and say the limited amount of fluoride added to the water poses no health risks.
Those against adding fluoride to the water say there are other ways for residents to take care of their teeth and the city water should be left alone.
