Springfield Fire/Rescue Division Chief Brian Miller called Anderson, “hard-working, driven and a leader.”

“She is the first female to be promoted, so she did break the gender barrier and is a little bit of a leader in that sense. Maybe this will help other women feel empowered and see this is also something they can achieve,” Miller said. “But I don’t want her to be known strictly for that. She works very hard and has earned this.”
Miller said Anderson also was part of the division’s HIRT, hazardous incident response team.
Members of the team respond to different emergencies that could arise in Clark County, such as grain bin accidents, trench collapses or river rescues.
Anderson will be taking over Station 3 beginning at the start of 2020.
