Springfield announces road closure as Crowell-Collier demolition continues

Road closures around the Crowell-Collier property continue as the complex nears complete demolition.

High Street between Lowry and Wittenberg will be closed from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. from Wednesday, Dec. 11, through Saturday, Dec. 14, according to the City of Springfield news release.

The closure is due to, “demolition work being done on the block,” according to the city.

West High Street from Lowry to Wittenberg was closed for a week about a month ago for the demolition.

Aaron Bush, site supervisor for the project said the demolition of Crowell-Collier is on pace to wrap up before the end of the year.

As of late November, wrecking crews had torn down about 25 percent of the complex.
