With schools remaining closed for the rest of the academic year due to the coronavirus, many Clark and Champaign county districts are coming up with special ways to honor the class of 2020 as they are missing out on traditional events such as graduation and prom.

1. Several schools in the district lit up their stadiums in April to honor their seniors. Stadiums were lit up for 20 minutes starting at 8:20 p.m., which is 20:20 in military time. All Central Buckeye Conference schools participated in the event.

2. Almost all high schools in each district are posting pictures of seniors on their social media accounts, showcasing the class of 2020 as they miss out on many milestones during their senior year. Some schools have even put together videos for the class of 2020 to honor seniors.

3. Many school staff members and volunteers have placed or will be placing class of 2020 signs in the yards of each senior in their districts.

4. The City of Springfield invited Springfield High School to showcase nearly 130 of their graduates on flags on downtown light poles.
