“We wanted to be a part of the effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle,” Green Twp. Trustee David Farrell said. “This is a great first step.”
The county and township have worked together to make the drop-off station happen, Farrell said.

Clark county provided the bins and recycling hauling service and Green Twp. provided the facility and location.
“We allow homeowners who do not have the option of curbside recycling to be able to drop off their recyclables and not have to travel as far to go to a place to recycle,” Bonnie Martens, program manager at Clark County Solid Waste District said.
The drop-off station has three kinds of bins.
The first is for paperboard and cardboard, the second is for paper like newspapers and magazines, and the third is for cans, glass, plastic, and paper.

“It helps us reduce what goes into the curbside trash,” Martens said. “We do get a lot of calls about how residents can recycle and by having a drop-off location it allows homeowners to have a means to decrease what goes into the landfills.”
Other drop-off locations include: West Recycling Station, 1620 West Main Street in Springfield, open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; North Recycling Station, 525 East Home Road in Springfield, always open; Northridge Recycling Station, 1539 Student Avenue in Springfield, always open; Mad River Twp. Recycling Station, 7952 Dayton-Springfield Road in Enon, open during daylight hours; Northeast Recycling Station, corner of Old Columbus Road and State Route 54 in Pleasant Twp., always open.
