Police said at least one person came into the house through the back door, shot two pit bulls and stole an AR-15. A child and an adult were home at the time, and they were not hurt, police said.

One of the dogs was shot in the face, and another was shot in the paw. Both were taken to the vet by their owner.

Nothing else was taken, and no arrests have been made.
