Missing woman found safe in Springfield

A 74-year-old woman reported missing from a Springfield nursing home has been found safe, according to police.

Patty Wilson was found in the woods near Lagonda Elementary School on McCreight Avenue shortly before 10:30 a.m.

A medic is being brought in to check out Wilson.

INITIAL REPORT: 

Police are searching for a missing 74-year-old woman who reportedly wandered away from a Springfield nursing home Monday afternoon.

Patty Wilson was last seen around 3:30 p.m. at Springfield Manor on East McCreight Avenue, according to police.

She is 5’7 and 155 pounds with long, braided gray hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a white shirt and light blue pants when she was last seen.

Wilson has also been diagnosed with early dementia, according to police.

Officers are searching the grounds at Springfield Manor on ATVs and at least one K9 is on the scene.

They’re also searching surrounding neighborhoods for Wilson.
